+1 on they Olympia. Not exactly cheap at $180-ish for the jacket and pants, but so worth it for the money. Packs up compact, very well made, keeps me totally dry in the nasty wind driven downpours.

used it this week on a hard downpour for about 30 min and was dry. Worked great.

Just did my first "touring" ride this past weekend. I had no rain gear as of 7 days ago, so I bought a set of Frog Toggs and hoped for the best. They mostly worked and I didn't get too wet. Around the neck let water in and the front of my shirt was wet. This was in really heavy rain for almost 3 full hours. Riding on state highway for about an hour, then interstate for 2 hours. For $30 I was pretty impressed, but also convinced I need proper rain gear if I'm ever going to do this again. Reading all the posts on here about different rain gear, the TourMaster, Ride Tribe, Nelson Riggs, and HD gear all sound good. One point I learned with the the Frog Toggs is that rain on them is fine, but water on them is not. Meaning that puddle that forms in your crotch eventually makes it's way through. All in all, riding in the rain wasn't what I'd call fun, but it was better than not going at all.

I've had the $150 Harley rain gear, and I have this. This is better:

I wonder how it can work with those 2 long zippers. Zippers = leaks

A few years ago, wife and I + 3 other bikes set out for a 5 day 4 night ride to Mammoth Cave. Same outcome. Blinding, torrential, insane rain all the way up and back. Frogg Toggs might as well have been made of paper. Worthless flapping p.o.s. melted every time it touched motor. MY wife's North Face nylon stuff also flunked. I would pull in at a stop and my boots would be full up to the top, pouring out looked like a comedy routine. What I finally did was chunk all of the togg garbage and just put on my leathers. Leather chaps and old-style leather biker jacket. A majority of the rain impacting me just ran off like off a ducks back. OK they did get soaked, but I stayed warm, and most importantly they did not flap like flags. I am not buying another ridiculous flapping outfit. Biggest issue I had was staining black under the leather from the seepage. Not a biggy except on my hands - black stains from leather gloves. But, I would pull over and the others, including my wife who refused to put on the leather from embarrassment, would be shivering and I was wet but comfortable. Laugh if you want, but the old gear works. Big failure was my HD engineer boots. Leaked like a sieve through the zipper.

I have used the HD Overpass for about 10 years and ridden in some real gully washers and it always kept me dry. I recently picked up some goretex Aerostich Darien pants and only rode twice in the rain with them but did the job. The reason I like the Dariens is because they have a fly zipper making them easier to put on and take off as well as easier for nature calls. I will still use the Overpass jacket because I really like it.

Just curious... Has anybody ever seen or heard of a review on the Ride Tribe rain suit?

Old School leathers do work if greased up properly with good stuff. They will leak and have places that let more water in than a mere leak - but they are still more protective than regular rain gear and, as stated above, will fight the cold better. And besides ... Olds Kool!

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I have an Aerostich suit, same concept. Doesn't handle the lap-puddle particularly well.

Install was quick but I did not see him close off the neck, arms or legs and did not see a Velcro flap over the zipper (like stated above "=leaks").
I carry a small/compact rain suit, I think it's a Orca EVO one piece - IXS (HIGH VIZ) but it is 3 plus years old and I don't pay attention to the name.
When I put it on it is either starting to rain or dumping and I want covered ASAP \
It is light weight and compact, one of the smaller ones and it was inexpensive.
When I bough it I figured one maybe two years and it would be toast/fall apart but it is at 99% (used it three times this summer).
I was going to buy the HD suit but wanted something more compact, with the other stuff I carry only so much room.
The only issue I have had with it is no heat shield on the leg, so my wife did a iron on heat shield (patch) on both sides of the leg.
This suit is the coolest one I have ever worn, do not expect it to warm you up much if any.
