Am I the only one who'd like to see it with a bobbed rear fender, and a set of apes?

Buddy of mine has one. It has Corbin bags and fairing (pretty much looks like the one on a Ultra). Its a great riding bike but takes some effort to turn due to the huge rear wheel. All I can tell you is that if you twist the grip....hold on!!

I have ridden the Rocket III and it is a fast but heavy bike. It handles wellalthough the engine just didn't sound right to me. My Triumph T100 was a little too light for the wind in Fort Worth. The Rocket was just too heavy so I ended up with the Street Bob. Pleanty of power and the most fun of any motorcycle I have owned.

I like the bikes Triumph makes and the Rocket III is my favorite of the bunch.

The only reason I'd never seriously consider getting one is that parts availability and dealer/mfr support in my area is non-existent.
I don't wanna wait at least a month for every little part I may need for my motorcycle.

I've read a few write-ups on the Rocket III and all spoke well of the bike.
I'd love to ride one at some demo.

I've owned two recent model Triumphs and found this site to have all the info you could possibly want, and some great and helpful folks --> www.triumphrat.net

Before my HD, I was a big Triumph fan. Someone mentioned that the HD crowd "respects" Triumphs. Well, the real reason for that is Triumph started in 1902, a year before the MoCo. Also, the Bonneville was the hot rod that prompted HD to even build the Sportster. Both bikes are legendary, and both have cult like followings.

The R3 is no heavier than a Harley bagger, has a much more potent engine and handles better. It feels light when you pick it up also. But - you have to like the looks of it . .lol. I was never a fan of the styling on it - except the dual front headlights and the rear tire. The triple exhaust sound is amazing, but the engines themselves make a lot of noise (very sewing machine sounding).

A Triumph dealer should allow you to demo one. . go for it and see if it's your cup of tea.

Friend has a R3 Classic, it's a beast.

Here is a interesting link comparing the motorcycle cruiser hot rods...

I think it also has something to do with the English being our Allies during the war.

That's the way I heard it. Old prejudices die hard.
