Rushmore is styling and comfort features. Absolutely nothing to do with the engine. With the only exception being the 103 HO which IIRC was only available in touring (AKA Rushmore) bikes. And not all Baggers are Rushmores. But all Rushmores are baggers. LOL
This is not quite accurate. The 103 HO was (is) air cooled and was installed as standard on LowRiders, some other Dynas as well, and in most Rushmore models. The remainder (Ultra Limited, Tri Glide Ultra and CVO Limited) got the Twin cooled engine (rather than the 103HO), which was essentially a 103HO with liquid cooled heads and slightly higher static compression. So yeah, the higher performance engine actually was an integral part of the Rushmore package as far as it concerned Twin Cam models.

You are correct, sir. I was over generalizing. The 103 HO was installed in the touring bikes, unless it was water cooled, in which case it was the twin cooled model. It also did appear in other models as well.

I get that. I do it myself on occasion. With that said, it was not my intention to come off sounding critical.
Harley just did a recall on 57'000 m8's for an oil line defect on all bikes built between July 2 2016 to May 9 2017 so if you are getting an m8 make sure that's been fixed
There was no oil line defect (2017 RK): a clamp may not have been properly secured on the end of one oil line....mine was fine.
That M8 is AWESOME!
