Check the tensioners and, at least in my area, 6k doesnt buy that bike.
yeah even tho the dealer saleman is like my adopted son....no way the dealer would let him sell that to me for 6K. I am gonna start at 7k tho....they want 9k but I ain't going that high. KBB lists it for that, NADA lists it for a high of 8100. But I am a tough negotiator
Is it a FLHTCU or a FLHTCUI? In 2003 they could be carbed or injection.I bought my '03 FLHTCUI in 2011. It had 2k miles on it. I was told it was stock, but I checked with the original dealer, and it actually had a Stage One with dealer flash.I love this bike. My only other bike was a Vulcan 750, so maybe I'm ignorant. But ignorance is bliss. I always have enough handling and acceleration for my needs. This is a great bike for 2 lanes/64mph/2800rpm. At interstate speeds 80mph/3300 it gets noisy and a 6 speed might be nice, but I hear that you need to soup up your engine, so not worth it to me.
I had the SE Cam Chain and Oil Pump upgrade, at 30 k. My oil psi went up 12 psi across the board, and my 88 hums like a dynamo. Torrington bearings were installed then too, and they are ridiculously cheap, they should have used them from the getgo.

The joke is if I get a big touring bike I will have to get a big ole WILD HOGS patch for my vest. LOL My Heritage Classic can tote the mail from coast to coast I am sure and I still have my bug out bags from my Army days that I can strap down, but that 03 looks like I can go to the doggone grocery store with all the storage. LOL
How does all the farings and tour packs do on highways with the wind buffeting from traffic?
Skid,
I've ridden mine all over the country; no problem. But yes, you will have to get a Wild Hogs patch. Or join our fierce group, The Numbskulls. (Logo is a skull with buck teeth).
Before I head to bed, I figure to post one more time. As far as the fairing and the lowers as this year was my first HD and I came from metrics with no faring or lowers and I never noticed anything except a comfortable bike. Wife and I rode it from S Central Pa. to Highpoint NC to see a friend of mine with no issues, as I mentioned before, it was most likely my best ride and even the wife agrees.
