I purchased a No-Mar tire changer a few years ago. It's not just about the potential money savings, it also about the time savings and flexibility, plus knowing the person who is doing the job.
This is exactly how I feel also. I also purchased a No-Mar Pro tire changer a few years back. I've only used it 4 times on my motorcycle tires plus a couple of changes for a friend.

I also made an adaptor to change my John Deere riding mower 8-inch and 6-inch tires with the No-Mar.

Also have the Marc Parnes balancer.

When I'm done changing my tires I KNOW they are done right. That is important to me.

Nice acquisition! Looks like it handles widths up to 10 inches and 37 inch diameter...would it handle car tires? I know it's a motorcycle tire changer but what's the diff?

Not if he does them without scratching or fuggin up a rim. You can't pay somebody to do a job right anymore. I'd rather spend money on a tool and never make my money back than be beholding to someone else's schedule.

That's a pricey one! I got a used Cycle Hill (NoMar budget brand) several years ago, no regrets, figure I've already saved a lot of money over what it would cost taking a bike to the dealer. Even if I took the wheels off first, I think I'm around the break even point or better. Biggest reason though was feeling confident tires and tubes are done right. A bonus I didn't expect was finding a big crack on the inside of my 1200's front rim. Was covered by a light layer of rust, and I doubt a dealer mechanic would have bothered cleaning that off. Might have lasted years... or minutes.

I'm old enough to have some joint pain, and the tire irons were getting to be a strain on the wrists. Not a problem with the changer, does it all pretty easy.

Back-n-Black, if you don't already have a good bearing puller/installer, I'd highly recommend that, good tool to go with a tire changer. Easier to use when the wheel is gripped on the changer, too, if you have enough room on that one to reach under (mine's open). I have a Pit Posse, and almost identical brands of lesser and higher prices are out there, good design.

With careful supervision, the little guys can help, too.

We have a local guy that bought one.
He stays busy with a little CL add & word of mouth.

Most of us use Beads or Ride On. But we have a manual spin balancer that does work pretty well.

We almost got the one that does both, but opt'ed for the cycle only changer.

I always use the manual balancer to find the least out of balance combination of tire position and wheel (it's tedious, moving the tire around the rim, but sometimes it makes the difference between 4 ounces out of balance and 1 ounce or less - even with RideOn or beads, that should be better), and for dyna beads, lightly stick/tape on weights to see a ballpark figure for how out of balance. Sometimes you need more dyna beads than their chart shows, and I suspect that's why occasionally people claim they don't work, didn't put enough in. I haven't seen a blue dot on the tire for positioning in years, maybe it's just the tires I use.
