In the winter, I maintain two batteries indoors with one Tender, and keep three bikes in the garage charged with one Tender. I just "rotate" them a few times.
you are right about the math not working out...guess I'll go with multiple chargers and a power strip. Thanks guys
The math does not work but... The Smart Charger Jr only has 750 ma of output, which is plenty for a charger/maintainer. The 4 Bank 12 v Battery charger provides 1.25 amps per bank, this would make the $70 Plus High Efficiency 12V Battery Charger a closer unit to compare it with. As noted 750 ma is good enough for a "trickle charger"/maintainer, the 1.25 would charge a low battery faster before going into maintenance mode.
I also prefer the TecMate Optimate 3 for it's more advanced diagnosis, testing and maintenance modes. I rotate it with the less advanced battery tenders. I also prefer individual units because the batteries I need to tend are too far apart to use 1 unit.
My family Doctor bought himself an E-Bike. I walk a park trail Monday through Friday around 7 am and meet him riding by with a big smile on his face on his way to his office. I can't see myself buying one but there are more and more people buying them.
I'd purchase separate tenders. If one has issues or goes bad, you still have the others. If you have a single multi-output tender, though, and it goes bad... then you're SOL. Not to mention you won't have to keep everything in the exact same proximity with multiple tenders; you can place them anywhere,
