Here`s wisdom speaking.

Everybody has different skill levels, the secret is to stay within your abilities, that is the experience payoff.

my numbers are similar to the OP... 64/1970...made a lot of dumb mistakes in the first 5 or 6 years and the past 5 or 6 seem like a roller derby on the roads with texters, which helps keep the daydreaming to a minimum and the focus at maximum. But thankfully Texas has a new law in effect 09/01 prohibiting any hands on use of phones or texting while operating a moving vehicle. Hopefully that will lower the danger meter by a click, although I suspect it will take a while.
I do find myself enjoying the wind now and then but I'm still on top of my game while in the saddle and sure don't want to experience a sudden gust of gravity. These bones and muscles don't heal as fast as they used to. But my bike doesn't corner like a sport bike either so I'm used to taking it easy on the turns.

Of all the recent threads in which I have participated, this one is the most meaningful to me. The reasons I have posted, but it is thread about what can be, based on what really could be considered minor for a motorcycle. The main value is through your words and experience I continue to become a better rider, even at 70.

I can put myself in the ops situation. I know it could happen to me. While I enjoy many of the conversations on other topics, this one actually lets me evaluate my skills and attitudes.
