Lots and lots and lots of data oaths over in the M8 Touring section. Tranny old is getting transferred to the primary at higher RPMs.
But ...... it is beginning to appear that it may be something to do with the hydraulic clutch set up on those bikes. Don't want to say for sure as I really don't know.
But the M8 Softails all have a cable clutch, so if that is the issue, then we shouldn't be affected.
That shouldn't matter should it? It looks like that the cable and hydro just move the rod still?

So far it's the defining factor, even if the reason beyond that is a mystery....
And no, there are significant design differences to hydraulic system equipped bikes beyond that point including an oil slinger there is no longer room for in the case.
As for Deluxes, I've seen them at the dealer and they sold fast.

ThaNks Ive only looked at them in envy of one more gear the other day on a steetbob and heritage I know I would a touring bike but still gravitate to smaller bikes I like these new bikes. If I had the means it would be a deluxe or steetbob with a fun sized cam .There accually very similar frame wise to how that Davis( guy who patented the softail might have name wrong) intended them to Be. I've only sat on them but they feel similar to my bike in weight and don't look like they will be scraping and dragging on every turn. Ian all for higher displacement and reliability they will figure out the problems. The only thing is I hope they don't hide the issues long enough that people get stuck with fixing problems they caused with price cutting. Ex 04-05 valve seals and these cam chain tensioner I have to deal with out of pocket.
Youre a smart guy.. Im sure you can figure it out.. You honestly have never heard of something being spooled or spooled up? I dont believe that for 2 seconds..
My wife has a 2009 Deluxe that she loves. Would like to see a 2018 in the flesh, not just a picture. Appears its a solo rider as the little passenger bump and small luggage rack is missing on the 2018, unless that is an "option" now!

Yes, passenger pad and pegs no longer come stock. Need to add if desired. Overall it's one of the least visually changed models for '18. They've always been good lookers. My '05 was great.
