If you're really concerned about a dead battery, a set of motorcycle jumper cables is not a bad thing to have.

If you’re gonna be going on an epic ride, just pony up for a new battery before you go, just to be on the safe side. If your charging system is otherwise in good shape, you won’t have any problems.

If you have a battery tender for use while at home, there is no difference in "getting to the battery" while on the road. This sounds like a troll to me. Just sayin"...

Its not just a seat screw on touring bikes, their is a seat strap that bolts to the saddle bag brackets, you need to remove the saddle bag and bracket and pull the strap thew the seat. On the other hand you can remove the strap before your trip, then all you have is a seat screw to remove.

rk classic.

Use to be easy. New bikes just a tad more work to it. ECM, connectors, covers moved out of the way and then you can almost cleanly get to the terminals.

Yep taking the seat off isn't that big of a deal.
The hard part is getting the jump starter clamps on the battery terminals.

Well first off it's a jump starter so you don't need anybody's help to jump a dead battery.
This is the greatest benefit.

Also it can charge phones, tablets and even laptops.

As for connection; they sell a specific pigtail that connects directly to the battery.
All I have to do is plug the jump starter into the pigtail and turn it on.

Note that the jump starter pigtail is a much larger gauge wire than a battery tender pigtail.
You never want to jump start a bike using a battery tender pigtail, it can't handle the amp draw and will melt the wire.

I do carry the clamps with me just in case I come across somebody who needs a jump.
I've never needed to jump start my own bike but I have jump started 1 other bike and 2 cars.

HELL, I got the Harley care plan, so I'll just call the nearest dealership if need be.

Thx.
You're going to want to get on your bike and get out of there for some air. If you can actually just let your bike sit for 4 to 6 days when you get to your destination, just leave it at home - on a battery tender.
