Harley knows thata lotof you will feel compelled to buy a Harley because it's made in the States. That's one of the reasons they don't need to really compete with the other makers. It's a shame in a sense, that your loyalty isn't rewarded by the manufacturers. I mean, come on, there's no reason HD can't make a stock Vtwin with over 1000cc's of displacement that will give you 100 hp. Sometimes a little pain in the corporate pocketbook is good for competition.
I certainly have my share of complaints...for everybody. Their just not going to deter me away from, what is now, my loyalty.
See, previously I was a metric rider. Since I bought this new treasure, I've found a great sense of belonging. One thing I never had with any other bike. Heck, I was one of the posers that took all of the badges off of my VTX.
I'm not the type to stick addons all over my bike with the HD logo creating a rolling billboard, but I'm certainly proud of my HD tank badge. I love that thing.
I agree totally. Thats one of the reasons I bought a Harley. I own a Toyota car and it was made in Kentucky with more parts made in the USA than GM automobiles. Might say its American made also.
Are you saying, then, that you are loyal to the company that is HD, or are you afraid of losing your identity if you don't ride one? Not sure exactly what it is you are saying you are loyal to. I hate to break it to ya, but if a person only makes you feel welcomed because of the brand of bike you are riding, I don't think I would consider them that good of a friend. . .
If Americans bought American there would be less outsourcing/importing. Fact is there are very few that make any effort to buy American, and some actually avoid it.
God Bless America. I own a Ford F250 and my Harley-Davidson and I'm all American. I love both my truck and my bike. Give me American Made or nothing at all. I have a tattoo of an American flag that says "Made in America" on my right arm. It's what I fight for and it's what I sacrifice for. Our rights as Americans to buy American and be American.

Neil, sorry to break your bubble but you're going to have to get off the habit of saying "Made in USA" and start saying "Assembled in the USA". Your Ford and Harley both have foreign parts in them. Perhaps "Mostly made in the USA" would still work.
