We've had A LOT of that lately. The other day...45 mph winds. When I looked down my front end, I was looking down my left fork tube.

I lived in Colorado in the late 70s thru 80s. Riding was awesome, could ride for all day in the fall through the mountains and hardly any cars. But now every time I go back to visit the parents there's just too much traffic. I go north through Wyoming or south through New Mexico for touring now.

I don't agree with this at all. California has a lot of things screwed up about it, but as a riding state I really don't see how it could be much better. The best weather in the world makes for about an 11 month riding season. Tons of great riding terrain and destinations. Plus I have found that California drivers are very careful and considerate of motorcycles in the main, although as always you have to watch out for the odd cager whose negligence will kill you.
The cops don't hassle riders either.
California rocks as a riding state if not for much else.
