The Evo is an older engine came out As I recall in the late eighties or early nineties, and was a 80 size motor, it was discontinued around 2000, and replaced with Twin Cam with a 88 size engine that over the years went to 96, 103 and ended on some bikes with the 110 version, being replaced this year with the new M8 motor.

Thanks for the input everyone. I've decided to not buy the bikes.
I agree with doing my homework and typically I do when I go looking for something. As the opportunity to buy these 2 bikes came to me unexpectedly and they were and are still actively being marketed I didn't have much excess time to make a decision. In general I felt I could sell them for a profit as I do buy and sell motor vehicles and RVs. I just don't have background in the HD value world.
Anyway, after letting my value side regain control of my opportunistic side I've let the opportunity go.
Thanks for all the input!

OP, since you not hip to Harleys, for hard historical and technical info on both engines, suggest you jump off this forum. ..or any forum. ..and do your research on appropriate sites. . What you primarily get on forums are opinions. ..and many of the facts you seek are not correct.
