I guess not. I guess with no such thing as the internet back then, you could only rely on your experiences.
The whole vest style stlye started there, why not white sneakers. Whatever, as far as I'm concerned, no one did it before me. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

For sure back then we didn't care about it. I did have a pair of Engineer boots save my foot when I went down (73 or 74) and my foot was caught under the bike while sliding to a stop. Came out with nasty road rash, but could have been so much worse - heel of the boot looked like one of those wedge doorstops and the leather was almost gone. No Pirates or everything Harley back then either, just denim, plaid, and leather - around here anyway.

That's why I laugh at myself and what I used to do.
Today I only ride in boots, leathers and a full face. I even started bringing my work shoes in my saddlebags so I was geared up for that short ride. Change shoes right in the parking lot. I'm not an AGATT by any means, but I ride a lot smarter than I used to. Live a lot smarter as well. Surviving Hodgkins lymphoma 4 freaking times, loosing 70% of you voice and drinking threw a tube in your stomach for the rest of your life makes you realize how precious life really is.

WOW. Nothing like that, just had a little plumbing upgrade to the widowmaker.
YES - Life is more precious than we ever realized in the day, when WE thought WE were indestructible.
Wish you the best and Savor every breath and in the wind moment.
It's usually rolled up in the saddlebag, always with me and doesn't take up much room.
My problem; My son is 6' 5" and still growing. He'd like one but can't find a 'tall' size. He looks funny in most we've seen. You tall guys, what brands can you recommend? Thanx.
Yes, but that could mean some that claim 3 piece or certain clubs and only have a ride to live patch, would be busted and the opposite.
Hell it's hard enough to get pics with some of them with their " " bikes.
I have one I got off some site online. I like the added storage of the pockets. I was riding a dyna when I got the vest so if I couldnt carry it it wasnt going with me. Mine is the same size and my shirts and seems to fit good for me.
