I got an email from the local HD dealer advertising rentals.
HD might be advertising it, but the actual rental will be done through eagle rider, from what I understand. Even if you pick up/drop off at an HD dealer, the bikes will be owned by ER and rental contracts through ER as well.
Eaglerider just announced the opening of seven new locations in Florida.
I was looking over the ER site. Only a few locations still have Indians listed, and those were Scouts. I didn't check all of them. I couldn't find any locations that still advertised Chieftains or Roadmasters. I know for a fact Las Vegas Main had some when I was out there early this year, but they've been removed from the menu.
A little more checking shows the new Florida ER locations are H-D dealerships. The one in Ft Myers is Six Bends H-D, the one in Sarasota is Rossiters H-D. Two for two, so I didnt check further
I'm happy about this. More locations that accept the Club membership is good for me.
When is this supposed to occur? You can still rent Indians from ER.
In 2018. In fact, it appears those Eagle Rider locations, that also happened to be Indian dealers, Are no longer gong to be Indian dealers as a result. San Diego, and LA dealers for example, which were ER locations first, will go back to just being Eagle Rider locations. Clearly, HD really really realaly doesn't want people to get on an Indian........

Just rented 3 days from Stormy Hill HD Florida which is now an Eagle Rider location. Luckily booked the bikes last October at HD Dealer prices ($95 per day) which ER honored.
New ER prices now more than double ($149 plus concession fee, environmental tax etc ) what the old HD prices were, Just been quoted about $3500 for 12 days rental in October so the Trips not happening now!
You can have your own bike and personal gear shipped for less. As well as have it serviced and new tires. You know what your riding is in mint condition.

~$300 per day. Holy crap. I thought you were renting it, not buying it.
