Default Parts Cleaning at Home

What do you guys use for cleaning oily, greasy parts at home? I'm real familiar with most all the products for degreasing and a water hose, but in a residential neighborhood I'm a little sensitive to Gunking up a outer primary cover, for example, in the driveway and hosing it into the alley. Eventually, the stained driveway is going to have someone on my case. Hate to spend on lightly used SafetyKleen if I could even get service at home. What do y'all use?

Harbor Freight has a decent 20 gal parts washer with pump. Tractor Supply sells Crown parts cleaner in 5 gal buckets.

Or just get some kind of bucket or wash basin, pour some solvent in it. There you have it. You can also use a cover on it if you have a mind to for future use.

For small jobs in a residential setup like that I've used a spray can of brake clean works well. The brake clean evaporates pretty fast and any runoff residue can be caught over a piece of cardboard box. Easily toss it when completely dry.

Get a plastic tub and use whatever degreaser you like.
Then dispose of the leftovers wherever they accept them.

Definitely sounds more environmentally friendly. Thank you...

Like stated above, a large plastic tub with degreaser and hose. Dispose of the dirty water down the sanitary drain.
I have also use mineral spirits on rags, dispose of rags in trash.

If you go the plastic bucket and solvent route you might want to fashion a strainer of sorts out of a piece of hardware cloth that's raised a few inches off the bottom so the crud will settle to the bottom and give you a clean place to place parts to soak next time.

I buy mine through Grainger online Graymill brand, ain't cheap but UPS delivered or local pick up. Old used stuff goes to the recycler. Same stuff the services use.

On the vehicle cleaning I use a water soluble cleaner.
Parts that are off I use gasoline.
