Default Key fob

When I turn ignition on it’s nit recognizing key fob and asking for the pin#, after a couple tries it usually works. Has anyone else had the same problem? And what did you do to fix it?

Try changing the battery in the FOB, or if you have another FOB from a different bike close by remove it

The symptoms you are going threw with the key fob are signs of a weak battery change the battery and it should work right. My bike came with two key fobs so i pulled out my second to test it. Good Luck

Had the same thing happen. Thought back and my battery was about a year old. Changed battery and all is well.

Happened last week on my bike, I carry and extra 2032 battery for the FOB and switched them out, and it works fine now.

Me too. I've been carrying one for a few years...and yes, I get a new one every so often.

I'm not yet convinced that "it's the FOB battery" is always the answer. I've been getting the same "enter PIN" message on my Ultra. I tested the FOB battery and it tested [not under load, which evidently makes a difference] "good". The bike intermittently detects the FOB. I'm still experimenting, but I'm suspecting the culprit might actually be the bike's battery [which, BTW, is still the original (2014)].

As much as we want to blame the battery...it's NOT IT......(when you take the battery out and it test good )on the skinny sideof the FOB there's a small piece of foam that presses the battery agains 4 small prongs on the other side......my FOB was behaving just as you all described...i had a new battery but the signal was not being received....
THE FIX.........I slowly pried those little four prongs "up" they were flat against the battery I slowly "lifted" them off the fob and voila..I have not had an issue since....
