I have 2 jackets. I use a mesh one in the summer and have a HD leather for cooler. The HD is just plain black leather with the only logos being in the buttons. I bought it cheap on Craigslist. Looked for a model number but couldn’t find one.
If you have not made a purchase yet, I would suggest you go to your local harley dealer and try on a FXRG leather jacket for size. Then check out craigslist or ebay. I was able to get a very nice one for less that 1/3 the cost at the dealer. It came with armor, liner and kidney belt and is good until the morning temps drop below 42 degrees. Then I have to break out the heated jacket liner and heated gloves.

check craigslist in your area under "clothes" search "harley" or "harley jacket". hundreds of items will show up. i just picked up a vintage, like new harley " cycle champ" horse hide jacket for $75 from craigslist.
Slight thread hijack, but I'm pretty new to riding, and usually just rock a hoodie and jeans, and my helmet.
How much will leathers help with the cold? And how hot are they during the summer?
Actual leather isn't necessarily warm by itself. It greatly aids warmth by being a thick shell which, if constructed correctly, makes a very windproof shell. Combine that with an insulated liner or other layers beneath and you can ride very warm. You can also ride with leather when it warms up, simply by going with minimal insulation or layers beneath.
And even if you feel warm...you'll look so cool in all that nice cowhide.

I got a great deal on a FXRG leather jacket off my local dealer discount rack almost stole it. Good for winter riding. I run HOT so I’m waiting on a Motoport air mesh II with two part liner which one part is your rain gear. Custom made to your dimensions I plan on it being my year-round touring jacket. Also able to grow or shrink with you. They have complete instructions on how to measure yourself on their website.

where Leather is worth its weight in gold is along the pavement, unfortunately. It might not keep you the warmest or coolest but it will protect your skin if the unfortunate happens. There are differences in strength in terms of abrasiveness. If your thinking about leather, its worth a phone call to Langlitz. They are very, very knowledgeable and have great customer service. Good luck and enjoy the ride!
