Default Advice please

Looked at a 1200c with stock mini apes.
I love the feeling they are very comfortable sitting on it in the dealer but my mind thinks what are they like in the wind and travelling at high end speed Limits

please advise are there any disadvantages of having mini apes over conventional
Bars

I had to get a windshield after putting apes on my RK. I commute 30 minutes @ 70 mph, I was a parachute. I was gonna say get on it and see for yourself, but I see you are in UK, not sure if that is possible.

I had 12 inch bars on my fat boy years ago, I didn't have much of an issue with 'sailing' (16's would be a problem for me though).. Two things I did notice, on long trips the blood rushed down to my elbows and my hands would go numb, and you have to relearn turns with higher and/or wider bars...

Well if they don't work out you can swap them out pretty easy. You might not even notice what other people can't stand or vice versa. Should be able to test ride it.

I have 12 1/2's and they have been great, bike before this had 14's and they were great. I'm 5'7 so either of these two sizes are fine for me. I would recommend a detachable shield, it's all personal preference. I don't think I would have another bike without at least 12 1/2's, there that comfortable.

I HAD mini apes on my low rider with a windvest windscreen... I will say much more comfortable than the beach bars and windscreen i have now.. It straightens out your wrists as opposed to the angle of my wrists on the beach bars .. my 2cts from an old dude

I have 12" mini apes and I was doing 100 mph on the parkway today, no problems that I see.
