Replacement 88 or Rebuilt Engine still available?
On another thread a newbie was upset that he couldn't find the parts to rebuild his 88B. Or a new 88B.
I always assumed that S&S sold new 88s, but I couldn't find it on their website. They still sell Evos, so I assumed they would sell 88s. I think Harley quit rebuilding your own engine a few years ago.
If my engine ever blows can I buy another 88 somewhere? Or have mine rebuilt? I would like to keep the 100th Anniversary stock appearance.

Not sure S&S actually make a TC engine. Seem to remember reading that one of the reasons Harley's brought them out was because other companies were copying the Evo design because Harley's hadn't a long enough patent on it, or something like that. Know you want to keep yours as was, but presumably other people could fit a 96 in their bikes if they had to because of wearing out or damaging their 88 engine.

I have no idea but it is still listed in long block program.

If you want to keep your anniversary appearance, ie logos on the engine block then you would rebuild. Not certain about Wisconsin, however, in California the engine serial number is on the title. Not a problem with the long block program as the replacement motor has the same serial number as the one it replaces. The dealer collects the bottom case with the serial number when you pick up or they install your new engine.

Thanks I missed that. The only thing is, no Anniversary logo.
