so, did the tech get you hooked up with the abs? or is it still bypassed?

It’s still bypassed.

Can you tell by looking? Self test sould create a light showing a brake issue?

I test my bikes' ABS on a gravel road or in the rain at least a couple times a year.

Maybe the PO eliminated the ABS required lines and installed the non-ABS lines? I can think of a couple ways to do it and not add any lines.

That's what I was thinking. How is it bypassed and not throwing a code? I'd like to know for when I have to do mine.

Can you define bypassed?
To be clearer: is module present but somehow gutted?
Is there a cross over line added?
Was module removed and regular lines used to replace?
Is a light activated for ABS upon start-up?
Did you have brake fluid replaced?
Plenty of bikes on the road without ABS so the lack of ABS would not be a deal breaker for me.

Everyone with ABS should read their operation manual on ABS Harleys. On models before 2020, the ABS is pretty much designed for straight line ABS emergency stopping. Better then nothing since its real easy to slide fwd in the saddle applying that rear too hard and also unloading it. It will then lock up. You really cannot even tell it unless you have a tire brand that makes noise when it slides.

Shame on you if you happen to be in a turn since as soon as that rear locks up and melts that patch, you find you are way oversteered and your back tire in your side vision. Most go down here

If you do catch it quick enough and let off, the rear goes back usually with a snap and few recover from that.

Harley's 2020 Police bikes and optionals on a few others have ABS along with turn, acceleration and linked system.

Well I just got this bike and ABS has been on. I just came across this and decided to register and I will go intro myself in the proper location. But it seems the front brake has been bypassed. I can only assume it was locked up. I just don’t understand how the rest is still working with the left side wide open. 2008 ultra classic
