Default Oil issue on 1980 Shovelhead

I need some help please. I just started having an issue with my oil draining from my oil tank to my primary case. It's not leaking out any where, but seems to be just filling up the primary. Any one ever had this insane issue? All the oil lines are hooked up correctly. I thought maybe the check ball was stuck?

Might be a few on here who can help you, but you'll be better off reposting on the motorcycle forum on the classic section that's where the Shovel guys are.

You may have a bad crank shaft seal.

If it still has the dry clutch set-up...just a vacuum leak in the primary will make it not return.

Thanks for the direction.

Thanks. The first thing I did was check all the lines. It is like the oil is just running from the oil tank rt the primary without running.

Pull and inspect the spring and check ball at the by-pass valve. Replace both if necessary. Also might be some crud under the check ball at the seat and not allowing the balll to seat properly.

I believe the new M8's are having a similar problem. Yes, the check valve is faulty.
