Rinehart Racing Header Problems
Remington firearms did the exact same thing in regard to the Model 700 trigger safety. They had an opportunity to correct the deficiency at less than 5 cents a rifle during the first year of production...They never did. Now, with MILLIONS of Model 700's in circulation, it would cost BILLIONS of dollars to correct...Remington's solution - Never admit there was ever a discrepancy in the design.

I just got back from a month-long training exercise in Bridgeport, CA (temperatures dropped to below 20-degrees through the night and its only October!!!). Anyway, I get back to the beautifully warm desert of Twentynine Palms to find my replacement header had been delivevered while I was gone.
I install the replacement and head out the next morning to Loma Linda, CA and the Quaid Harley Davidson shop (909) 796-8399 (just in case this story sounds too hard to believe to some readers). I get there on a Tuesday morning and theres no wait - Bike goes in within the hour! Steve (older tech with 30+ years experience) takes on the inspection.
Now, it's my intent to do the services on this bike myself but with the recent experiences of misfortune, I thought it would be best to get an experienced set of eyes to give the girl a good once-over...The tech immediately notices an exhaust leak in the front cylinder - Apparently I dont have the ear for what that sounds like. Bike goes up on the jack, front header is taken off and...See picture below because theyll speak more than 1,000 words, right?
Time to move on and purchase another system. Im sure theyre just as pissed at u at this point and wont budge. I had an issue twice with a 2 bros system on my bagger (have a LRS also and that has a 2 bros system too which has had some issues 2 into 1) breaking the welds on the x-over pipe 2 into 2. They sent another pipe... Broke again... 2nd time, same problem was the last and went with D&D as a replacement. Didnt bash em here or anywhere..... No time, no need.... Get another system and ride the hell outta that LRS like I do!

The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
My intent for this thread is two-fold. One, to take aim at a company who is obviously lacking in quality control but yet still charging the consumer a premium price for a product that is NOT backed by a legitimate warranty or quality customer service. This continues to happen throughout our society and we (the consumers) are forced to suffer the conciquences. Its maddening. And all we do is continue to recite the same colloquial phrase of they dont make em like they use to, do they?
Its bullshit. Its time people start calling a spade a spade. Design and engineering has become more and more centered around the use once and discard ethos than that of quality and value. This may be the breaking point for me and Im sure it comes off as such, but this isnt the only ****-product Ive delt with and Im sure many of the readers feel the same way. What are we paying for?
Someone, who doesnt run Rinehart Racing products, told me after the experience this week Well, you get what you pay for! Are you kidding me? These arent some $200-$300 set of pipes. Am I right?
Lastly, Im writing this thread because HOPEFULLY there is someone, just ONE person out there, who might be interested in purchasing Rinehart Racing pipes because he sees the quality and expense put in to the pipes and he too wants nothing but the best for his bike. After reading this, maybe hell get past the FAKE NEWS of magazine advertisement and the legacy of what is now a failing company and decide to spend his coin elsewhere...If I accomplish at least THAT much in this forum, Ill call it a success.
P.S. I still havent figured out how to attach pictures when using a damn Apple device. Ive tried the whole process as advised above, but it still hasnt allowed the pictures to attach.
Basically, the collar or lip that was welded on the start of the pipe coming from the head lost its weld and slipped-off. That was causing the exhaust leak from the front cylinder. That header pipe was the first replacement that was sent to me back in May after the original shattered the exact same way as the recent one did at the o2 sensor.
