I had an ECM failure on my 06 Fat Boy. Went down the tortured road of talking to dealership service departments and couldn't past that I was signing a blank check for them to get it in the service bay. Couldn't pin them down on a price. Tried a used ECM from the same year bike with the same part number but from a different model and it wasn't right. There are different versions of software in them, so I was looking at a re-flash. Local dealer wouldn't do anything with it since the serial number in the ECM didn't match the serial number on the bike. Fortunately the used ECM didn't cost me anything so I just gave it back to the buddy I got it from.
In the end, I bought a Thunder Max from Fuel Moto. Never looking back. Call them and talk to them. You can buy them other places too, but when I did mine Fuel Moto gave me the best deal and they know what they are talking about.
