accessories do take away from the looks, however what does one have their bike for, riding or just looking at. I have my bike to ride and the looks depriving accessories are a must in that case.
I haven't gotten around to posting my "Buyer Beware" about Viking Bags yet. For now, I recommend you consider this: Better Business Bureau - Viking Bags
"Alert: In June 2018, BBB investigated Viking Bags business practices. BBB has received information this business may: be sending incomplete orders or the merchandise may be defective. Lastly, consumers are not able to reach the business. BBB contacted Viking Bags regarding business practice concerns, the business did not respond."

This is not meant to be critical of your opinion, but isn't beauty in the eyes of the beholder?
I freely admit a "naked" bike can look great and a lot of riders really like that look. On the other hand I don't think accessories always take away from a bike's looks.
A dressed up ride looks good to a lot of people. If they didn't there would be no market for baggers and dressers.
My Cherry is a wannabe tourer and I like the look of the accessories on it. Strip it down and it does not look like a Heritage (to me) anymore. I have received MANY positive complements on the looks of my Cherry from both other riders and non-riders alike.
Bags and shields are the way to go on a road trip. Having a bar-hopper/cruiser/touring bike is a delicate dance where detachable hardware is the order of the day.
BTW: Cool looking mount!

I just bought the Viking Hammer XL bags for my bike. I want to know, are there quick detachment brackets made for my bike? On Vikings website all I could see was QD brackets for 2000 and up bikes. Mine is a 1998. Shouldnt be too hard to retro fit? All you do to the bags to mount is drill holes.

I bought a set of Vikings for my wifes bike. Instructions stunk, wrong set of bolts BUT well built for he price. I emailed them and they did not reply. Lol
Wow ! I had no idea that Viking had these issues . My friend had a trouble free experience with them . I got in touch with him today and asked him how they were holding up . No problems , still look like new ! was his answer . He said his brackets were the bolt on type , not quick release . Only takes half a minute to remove .
Frank : Before I bought my RK last June , I really had a hard time deciding which bike I wanted . I love the Heritage for that reason / Bagger for travelling or strip it down for quick trips . Either way they look great !
I've decided to turn my Fatboy into a touring monster, complete with a windshield and bags. I've been looking all over for some cool leather/nylon bags that suit my bike. So far I think Viking Bags have the best ones. Can you guys give me some recommendations on saddle bag brands that would look good on my bike?
Regarding a windshield: I've got a dyna but I put a Heritage front end on it like the one on your bike. I put a quick release Memphis Slim in Gradient Black on it that I only use when I tour or in the winter. https://memphisshades.com/products/m...oftail-classic It's worked very well for me, I highly recommend it. Here's a pic from the front, from the back, and a pic of what's left on the forks when you remove the windshield. Once you install the mounts, it only take 10 seconds or so to put on or take off the windshield.
