Hiya all quick question last service I been getting my oil pack from Harley,, is it cheaper to purchase oil and filter from another source,, also what oil is preferred in a 08 street bob cheers
Why don't you check your available sources and see if oil and filters are cheaper? Check your bike's Owner's Manual for the correct oil viscosity and buy a motorcycle specific oil that matches it, and you should be okay.
Im not paying anyone $9.00 bucks for a QT of oil. So for the past two bikes and over 75,000 miles I have use Mobile one synthetic 15/50 . Only 22 bucks for a 5 Qt jug at Walmart . And often gos on sale for $19.99 .

Finally, an oil thread. I thought winter would never get here. lol
I've used a majority of the choices at one time or another. As long as it still had some in it they all seemed to work pretty well. Currently I'm running Valvoline mc oil in a couple bikes and Castrol in a couple others.

Well, I use Mobil One V Twin, it's 9.59.a quart where I buy it but my wife is a coupon nut and she can get it at certain times of the year for $4 a quart. So that's what I use. Nothing better.

Thats also a great way to get what you want . And if you do see any more great coupons make sure you chime in and tell us when you see them and where . Thanks

$4 a qt. is a good deal, I would be all over that but I won't pay the full price. This time of the year I run Rotella T 15/40 in my RK and I leave the other bikes parked until it gets warmer.
Oil is oil. It all comes out of the same earth unless you get that fancy gourmet fake oil which I would never waste my money on. Just remember that motorcycle oil takes a harder beating than car oil so I change mine every 3,000 miles.

Nothing better is a pretty big statement. Please share the empirical data.
