There is this news spreading (true, the dealership owner just communicated yesterday) Seems like someone made a mistake when classifying the motorcycles for export/import purposes.
Long story short, right now if you want to purchase a Harley Davidson motorcycle outside of the US, you have to pay 15% on top of the value (this is normal, the tax cut) but because of the little error, you have to pay an additional 20% making a total of 35%on top ofthe bike's value [:@].
How long will it take to fix this? God only knows.
I am proud to be an American as well, but it sucks that those living over seas may get screwed. It doesn't really matter where you live. We all ride, right? That's not an American thing! It's your country's policy. In my business we sell overseas all the time, on occasion I'll see this but it's up to the purchaser to figure out and grease some palms,,,I mean pay it.
