All the info is on the Buell site. 146 HP in a 375 lb. bike. Should be scary fast. MSRP, though, is $11,995, which is pretty high if they expect to sell them in volume against the Japanese sport bikes. If this is a boutique bike, like an Aprilia or MV, maybe the price will work.

I agree that the price is too high... You can get on a liter bike from Suzuki, Yamaha, Kawi, or Honda for the same price or a few dollars less... and out perform the buell.... The buell needs to be under 10k to try to steal some of the sport bike buyer market..just my .02
I agree totally that they have to get out of HD dealerships or the HD dealers have to change the way they do buisness.
Erik Buell is one of my favorite people in motorcycling besides John Britten. He is all about his customers.
I am happy because I really really want an XB long or Super TT to compliment my Superglide. With this thing on the market the air cooled prices will likely drop a few.

Buell is definitely stepping it upa notch and coming to the market with an American branded bike that can compete (at least on paper) with some of the more established boutique brands.
But, Buell has GOT to get their bikes out of Harley dealerships. As a 3 time Buell owner, I can attest first hand that many (if not most) Harley dealers treat Buell as red headed stepchildren*. In addition, the new 1125R is probably going to attract a younger, more sport-oriented customer. I don't know many Harley salespeople who are going to be able to adequately service this new audience.
I don't know what the answer is - Buell doesn't yet have the market share to support stand-alone dealerships - and it's doubtful that Harley will allow Erik and the gang to put the products into multi-line dealerships.
Just my $.02 (and worth every penny)
*No offense meant to red headed stepchildren
Have you ever been to Japanesse Bike Shop??? I dont' think that is an improvement. With Harley sale down this year I would think the Harley Dealerships will be happy to sell any product that people want to buy. Buell's haven't sold well in the past. I think they are nice bikes but they are expensive but they don't have the sexiness of a Ducati or an Aprilla. Plus they are slower than the competion. If they put out a great bike at a fair prcie they will sell. Take a look at the age of the average Harley rider. If the Harley dealers don't start selling Buell's or something else that appeals to the younger set they will eventually go out of business.
Well, it's hardly American anymore then is it[:@][&:]
An Austrian engine, from Rotax, [owned by Aprilla?] , japanese Showa suspension, italian tyres and so on. One of it's selling points is made in the USA, I think that's a little bit out of the window.
Oh well, if you can't beat them.......

Buell has to do something so they aren't the laughing stock of the sport bike world anymore. Sorry, but using a glorified sportster motor in that chassis is a crime. Nearly every metric bike 600 cc or bigger can smoke a Buellin most situationssomaybe that will finally change with this model. I sure hope there's room for more horsepower and reliablity with this powerplant though because they'll need it if they want to compete inroad racing. I've been to three road races in the last two years atRoad America and I've yet to see a Buell finish a race!
