Just got the Fox Creek version of a cafe racer, their Grayson. They were running a sale. The neck is sure tight. I got a cheap barney that I can zip up all the way. But I am curious what other people are seeing with other brands. Is this just something you have to live with? People don't button or zip them up all the way? Granted I don't care about buttoning. But zippng up is nice.
I got a motor cop style that fits. So not sure about this one.
Leather lined right chect pocket is an upgrade. Though would be nice if the lines didn't show through.
I have a similar jacket from Hillside Leather. When I just have the jacket on I can button it and it's fine, however in a riding position it just doesn't feel comfortable so I zip it all the way up and leave the button open. I could have had them extend the collar a bit as a custom job but it wasn't really worth it to me. As long as it zips all the way I'm fine.
I've had three cafe style jackets,a Schott, one from Walter Dyer, and a Hillside Leather horsehide. The only one that the collar wasn't strangling me was the Schott. The other jackets were nicely made, but the collar tab was made for pencil necks.Sent them back. Shame was,the Walter Dyer was super high quality ,and very reasonably priced for a USA made jacket. As a point of reference I'm an average size guy,not some huge no neck bodybuilder.
Leather is nice, you want to wear it. Though certain pieces of y other fox creek jacket went funny.
I tried on my cheap one, and could zip it up just fine.
Part of me says you are focusing on it. Other says you are paying a lot of money. If you wanted to settle should by pakistani. I am a little disapointed in Fox Creek. They are my list for leather, but should so better for the price they want to charge. Have gone up a lot. Got to popular.
Sad these companies have gained such reputations, by shitting on riders. Anyone who actually put their jacket on would know there is a problem. So this tells me they just don't care. Figure will suck it up.
Spend all this money on a product and its still ln the box cause I don't know if I can put up with it, for $$$$. But yet a pakistani jacket for $130, can make bigger hole.
I really thing they know they are making a bad product.
Schott is $750. Not worth it to me. I have a good jacket. Even if I didn't I am not paying that. I can afford it, just not gonna. I am not from NYC.
Price is relative. The Schott jacket I bought in 1979 has been passed down to my youngest son. Still in good shape. Perfectly weathered is what my son calls it. What does being from NYC have to do with buying a quality product?
