Did you get charged for a the actual trailer, the addition of another axle? Illinois's IPass (same thing) charges for additional axles for trailers. Figured that out when I had to trailer my bike from northwest suburbs to central IL 4 trips, two north and two south.
I expect the toll records are time-stamped. Surely, they will be able to bring up the information on their system and see that the tolls were recorded at the same time and remove the additional toll fee from your account.

My EZPass listed 2 charges each time I went thru 2 toll booths. One charge listed per transponder. I was charged for the Yukon plus the third axle (trailer) and I was charged for the motorcycle transponder. A previous post indicated there is no way to avoid that happening however it only happened twice and I went thru many more toll booths during the trip, Very curious.
No way round it if the pass is physically on both vehicles, systems going to read both. Be happy they arent tagging you for multiple axles too.
They did tag me for multiple axles. The charge for the Yukon transponder included an extra charge for the third axle/trailer. The second charge was for the motorcycle transponder.
Wow, it read it through the trailer, strong readers. I'm sure you can explain it to the tollway people given you have 2 charges at the exact same time. I guess remove the motorcycle responder before trailering as it'll read through the walls.
The PITA to resolve it will be worse than just paying it. They have designed it that way...unfortunately you spread your legs by letting them attach to your crdit card...
EZPass customer service credited my account for the amount of the double toll charges without any questions. Very cooperative. When I explained how it happened they made a suggestion to wrap the second transponder in aluminum foil to avoid getting double charged in the future. The transponder is installed under the outer fairing cover so I'm not sure how practical a solution that would be. I like the convenience of having the transponder installed under the outer fairing cover so I'm going to have to give this some thought. I've trailed a bike with a transponder installed under the fairing for years and this is the first time it has ever happened. The answer may be to just call and request credit it when it happens.
