I also don't follow contractors pick up trucks (or any truck with a load.) A friend once asked me why. I asked him he ever thought about where all the broken ladders, buckets, tie down straps etc. that he sees on the freeway came from.

Went through an intersection today with a load of lumber blocking a couple lanes. Seems Jaun and a few of his buddies had loaded the lumber rack on his F-250 with what looked like 40+ 12' sticks of 2"x 8" and tied it down with rope instead of straps, second light away from Home Depot he had to stop quick and lumber didn't.
