Anyway, I think it's pretty cool.
Thanks, I guess I did miss it. I don't go on these forums much!

Don't think there are any near me. It sounds cool.

Yeah, it's a classic gag and I've especially seen it on guitar forums. A guy will ask the value of, for example, his 2004 Jackson Soloist, and it never fails that someone will pipe in and say something like, "It's worth $20.00, but I'll give you $30.00 plus shipping."

Never been on guitar forums but I have a love for them as well. I have a Kay brand (never heard of it myself) but it was my grandfathers. Has to be close to 100 years old by now. Also have a Garcia classical, 12 string, electric, i dont remember the brand names off hand.

You blew it using the word "vintage" that's pogi bait, motors worth about $1500, buyer isn't going to care what you tell them unless you have a stack of paperwork & receipts to back it. I live in Cali, home of that **** and they can't give chopped piglets away out here.

Sounds about right.

The problem, value wise, with Sportsters has always been that people with money don't want them, and the people who want them don't have money. The old Sportster market is either guys looking for a budget ride or guys looking for a cheap donor for a project.

I believe the word vintage means - old. At 52 it is considered an antique. Thank God I don't live in Ca.

I'll be the dissenting opinion here - $4000.

I say that because in these parts bikes like that are sought after by a specific group of folks. We have a bike show called Brew town rumble. if you parked it there with a for sale sign you would get a lot of interest.
