08 Ultra

I know it's probably too early to ask but I see the new Ultra has a 6 gallon tank and I'd sure like to have that on my 07 Ultra. My Ultra has a CSC trike conversion on it and that extra gallon would sure help. Anybody know if it would work? I'd think it would.

I'd want to know if it truly holds a full 6 gallons. Most that have run their 07 and earlier models dry or near dry say they hold 5.4.
Might not be gaining much for the expense.

sure it will work. My brother crashed his Heritage a few yrs back, and replaced the 5 gallon tank with a 6 gallon.

Matter of fact, his name is Dwight, also, and I think he was born in 1945, though it may have been 46. (in reply to Dwight45)

According to the 08 HD Tech Forum the 08 you cannot retrofit the 08 tank to an earlier model.

that may be so, without alteration, but that's not to say you can't install a 6 gallon tank on an 07. Of course you can.

after about 200 miles avg on an ultra with a 5 gal tank, I stop for fuel. by then my body needs a little stretch to loosen up any kinks. So now i can think about the 6 gal tank, go another 40 miles, maybe, still kinked up. is the 40 miles really worth it. For the die hard, hammer down, highway runners maybe. just my 04 cents.
