The only thing magazines are good for nowadays is to read something while you are taking a dump. For those that enjoy that, of course. They should kill two birds with one stone by printing the magazine on toilet paper. That way you can read it and then do with it what it's worth; wipe your *** with it.
Print media is going the way of brick and mortar stores... obsolescence. It is a digital world.
That's because of the mindset for a lot of people that having one delivered to your front door or doing an online subscription leaves a trail that they fill uncomfortable with. Big brother is watching you......

Think it just a spur of the moment thing? RIP and I travel but most times, our frequent flier miles do not suit our plans, so we usually go free magazine subscriptions.
RIP has them coming in right and left. I get HotBike, Car and Driver, Reader's Diagest and Guns and Garden. A few others that just go straight to the recycle bin.
I know most subscriptions are a 1/3 of book store prices.
But Walmart has a lot better prices then 7-11 and WAWA and people choose the latter. Go figure? Guess it's like when you see people driving $100 K cars like idiots. Makes you wonder how they made the money to pay for them.
