On 12-29-18 I purchased a 2019 CVO Limited w/F6R from Baker Tx and Legend air Suspension. On 5-17-19 at 15,300 miles I lost the clutch on I84 in Danbury CT & drove the final 12 miles to my shop after which I endured a day from hell to get a tow the 57 miles to the dealer. Here is where my journey into the "Twilight Zone" began- FYI it's now 6-27-19 and I'm still waiting. The bleeder on the side door was leaking due to debris- the jury is still out how it got in there or why it took 15K to create a problem- and the dealer couldn't resolve the problem so the side door was shipped back to Baker for a complete overhaul. Upon return and reinstall the bike was test ridden during which there developed 'marbles' noise in the Tx. Upon inspection Harley's 3rd gear, and Baker's machined gear on their counter shaft had broken teeth; (The jury is still out on which came first, the chicken or the egg- did Harley's gear fail first or Baker's). Broken parts were replaced and bike was finally returned to me on 6-13-19. After about 10 miles, 1/2 way home, I heard a scraping noise coming from the Tx, subtle but definite and only once. Dealer advised giving specifics before return. Issue progressed and after 3 days upon return to the dealer, it was found that the races in the bearing for the counter shaft were worn- this unquestionably was due to poor inspection of all components before reassembly, of this there can be no question, regardless of any other preceding factors. The dealer is saying that somehow Baker's machined gear on their counter shaft started this whole issue and Baker is saying the reverse- no pun intended. My gut is telling me that Harley's gear is at fault but I have no proof. My question is are there any complaints, documentation, industry stories regarding this 3rd gear and additionally any complaints of Baker's F6R causing any Tx problems. Personally I don't see how since it's only used in reverse so how could it possibly effect 3rd gear? Any insight or suggestions would be most welcome- it's been 6 weeks minus 3 days and counting without a bike.
Thanks, David

Do a search on here, i thought i read about some problems with the 3rd gear on some of the newer bikes. I think it pertained to the hardness of the gear.

There have been a handful of reports about OEM 3rd gear failures, but I believe most were on bikes with performance mods.
Thanks and I apologize that I neglected to mention that I also had the Stage IV installed- but shouldn't the gears and upgrades be compatible, otherwise why sell the upgrade?
