Not sure if this is viable for you, but what about a GoPro?

From what I understand, the GoPro image quality is superior. That is another option.

I use an app on my phone. This one to be precise. I use two old (disconnected) phones in my SUV for front and back. If I had money to burn, I'd get a dedicated system with front and back capabilities that are small and unobtrusive, but since I had the phones already, as well as my current active one, and since the cameras and GPS functions still work on the old ones and the app was only a few bucks, I made a working system for next to nothing for both the truck and the bike. It's not like a "2-channel" system where front and rear can be set to combine into one video, I'd have to do that manually with editing software if I ever needed them to display as such. I'm not accident prone though, so my main reason for having two in the truck is to show how fast I was going when/if I get lit up. Maybe he has me dead to rights, maybe not, but if not, I'm gonna win in court. Wish I could figure out a safe and reliable way to affix an old phone to the rear of my bike, but it hasn't come to me yet. I do have one more old phone laying in wait for when it does come to me though.

I’ve been looking for a dedicated hard wired system for awhile but so far none of them provide the video quality of a GoPro .

I bought a cheap action cam ($25 soocoo C30) and it has a dash cam function, plus software to smooth out vibration and small movements. I still get vibration in the video IF the Ultra is on the kickstand and idling (the whole bike shakes a little) but straight up and rolling down the road it's okay. I currently have it mounted to the front crash bar, and wired into the cig lighter. It starts recording when the bike's started and stops recording when the bikes shut off. Although it's supposedly capable of 4k I can't tell any difference between it and the 2k. I have it set on 1920 X 1080/60 fps to decrease file sizes a little bit. I've got it set to record in 3 minute segments but you can set it almost any way you want file size. It overwrites the oldest files if the card is full, in dash cam setting. I also use it on my sportster but on it I have it on my helmet or recently I mounted it on the center bolt of the bottom of the windscreen. Here's a sample pic.
