All vehicle manufacturers outsource parts. Back when the Goldwing was made in Ohio it had a much higher percentage of parts made in the USA than Harley. The Honda Goldwing and all their ATVs were assembled at the Ohio facility up to a few years ago.. Honda is Japanese owned company and Harley is American owned. Just because it’s American owned does not mean it’s 100% parts made here and assembled here, many many years ago yes.

Where you been? Just one example...Sportsters had Japanese "Kayaba" brand forks as early as 1973.

Should be a good test to see which one's chrome holds up the best. Report back.

What's your source for this?
United Steel Workers union guys, or International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers folks working the line at Menomonee falls might be surprised.
Maybe the UAW folks at the York plant would like to know, too.
They are built in York, PA, from 60-70% USA materials, with 30-40% being sourced elsewhere.

That said, I did have to buy all the pieces parts (dozens) to re create a destroyed saddlebag. I was rather surprised at how many of those parts had Made in USA on the package.

The country of origin of a Harley is the US but technically they do not produce a high enough percentage of components and materials sourced from the US to market it as made in America.
