Guess it was time. 1997 Heritage Softail classic. Don't know how long the previous owner had this battery but it's died twice now. Any recommendation? Evo engine and an occasional Garmin. I've not done an Amazon battery as usually there is a core exchange/ charge. Fill me in. Used to work at a dealership and I did it right there at work and got discounts. Now I'm flying solo.
Deka has been a good battery for me...they make the HD and Big Crank also I believe....Fellows befor have stated that Battery Mart is the place to go with free shipping
If you have a Batteries Pus near you, they carry a good selection that will fit Harley and they have a 2 year warranty. Many places only give 6-12 months.
I get 7 years out of Harley batteries, so one of the few things I am pro Harley. There has been talk of deka or optimum making their battery. Doesn't mean specs are same. I may be over paying. They have doubled last 10 years.
Also I put the old one in lawn tractor, turns that little motor over for a while.
I got my battery thru Amazon, no core charge. Took the old one to the place I get my car oil changed, they accept them no charge.
Next time take it to Advance Autoparts. They give you a $10 gift card for any battery returned. Took my old battery plus 4 smaller 12V's from an electric scooter. Just wanted to get them recycled and all of a sudden they handed me a $50 gift card.
