if sales were amazing....or just good....or even just slightly less than expected....HD would be trumpeting the news

I haven't really seen any news other than the recent halt in production which probably cost them a **** ton of money and turned out to be much ado about nothing

As crazy fast the Livewire is, all electric vehicles lack that one important feature necessary for a satisfying drive..the sound of an internal combustion engine.
Electric motor noise isn't sexy. Maybe HD will have a IC sound simulator that will BT to the riders helmet.
If that doesn't work, maybe a clothes pin holding a playing card next to the wheel spokes will give a pleasing engine sound.

The Livewire has it's own sound and it is very cool. It is a low whine like a turbine engine. You can hear it in a lot of the videos, but it is much better in person. It also has a "Pulse" when you are sitting at a stop light.

As usual, I was being facetious in my comments. I have never heard a Livewire and yes a turbine whine is very cool, especially on aircraft.

They sound just like our Toyota electric forklifts when we race them...

Buddy and I test rode one in daytona. I would say they are pretty interesting - aside from his running out of juice on the way back. I left for the 8 -10 mile straight road test ride with about 14% left on the battery and returned with approx 6% left, so I told the next rider that he may want to point that out or he may be stranded. Dont recall much noise except a rapid increase in wind noise from acceleration. I did notice a type of very minimal surging when you were stopped at a red light - not bad, just different. You better hang on and be leaning forward if you are going to ring the throttle. It was pretty cool and I think is a good step to broaden their product portfolio - might need to rap someone upside the head on the price position decision though, but hey CVO trikes are touching $50K - ouch. Did play with 3 of the 4 ride modes (normal, ECO and wet) - as they had the 'sport' option inactive. I also wish that the test ride left from the daytona racetrack and was self directed like in years past - but no mfg'rs were test riding at the track - it was pretty deserted except for some vendors. At least you could get into some turns on the road behind the track. Maybe at Bikeweek in March

Having said all that, taking the mighty 'busa for a test ride several years ago was THRILLING - what a ride that is... wow. Would like to see how a drag race would turn out between a stock livewire and a stock hayabusa

My guess they are going to a place the Tucker automobile went.

I find it highly unlikely they did again as there is nothing in the news about it
