Default Wheel cleaning help

Any ideas on how to get the black stains off and the shine on? I used Mothers aluminum and a cloth but still not right.

Good polish and OOO steel wool, finish with OOOO steel wool.

I’d just try 0000 only. That should do, without being too abrasive.

And Harley should be bitch slapped for not putting decent clear coat on the wheels and forks.

If it is tar or grease then perhaps starting with a tar remover or petrol to soften it first

Good info; just ordered some 0000 steel wool off Amazon.

Might be all wet here...but that looks like pitted aluminum to me .
and looks like someone has already fine scratched it with a kitchen scrounge pad trying to clean it up



Blue Magic and buffing wheel helped mine

+1 0000 steel wool with an aluminum cleaner.
I use the product I linked below, probably any decent aluminum cleaner and 0000 steel wool work though.
Read his instructions.

Second Blue Magic , that stuff dissolves tar , bugs . break dust and leaves a very nice shine .. Around here it's hard to find , last time I ordered it off Amazon .
