I would be relocating to an area north-NE of seattle. I read about how bat-**** liberal Seattle is, so if you can point me to areas that are a bit more conservative that would be great. mid-western values and all that
I did not live in these towns but they felt most like home when I visted: Monroe, Snohomish, Duvall. A lot of people are moving north of Everett. Basically the farther you are from the University District the less Liberal it will be.
What area will your work be? A 2 hour commute isnt uncommon. That's 4 hours a day sitting in traffic. Most people try to live as close to there work as they can afford.
There is some great riding and things to experience out there, but there is a reason I left. If you want mid west values to be common you're going to struggle finding that on the wet side.
They don't even check them in California. At least five out of six bikes here have modified exhausts. When you bring a bike into CA (as I have) They do a VIN and Engine ID verification. That's it.
Spartan03, check out Lynden, WA. It's real close to the Canadian border and an enclave of West MI folks. A lot Cavin and Hope folks that carried the West MI principles with them and live by them. Wife's nephew is from here (Holland) and just loves it.
I live in Spokane on the east side of the state. The state is roughly divided West=Socialist East=Conservatve but it's becoming more Socialist every day.
As mentioned, there is no motorcycle smog testing in WA.
I am a 35 yr veteran of Washington state and have watched the slow descent into liberalism driven by Californians escaping their socialist state and bringing their same failing politics here.
Avoid King county due to higher taxes and left wing politics.
Also, I don't recommend Lynden as someone suggested, it is Dutch reformist town and you can't even mow your lawn on a Sunday, plus it gets the arctic blast in winter from the Frazer river valley in Canada.
Snohomish county (Monroe, Marysville, Everett etc). has a big illegal drugs problem along with the crime that goes with it, also the commute to the Seattle area is a nightmare.
