If you are in MD, this is just about riding not should you go, take a look at riding in WV. It's best described as, if you took all the hills and mountains and flattened them out the state would be bigger than TX.
Besides Dickie, half are going for cataracts surgery. The other half coming home. If they say they didn't see you, it's probably true. Only place worst is Boston. You are not safe there even in a car. There is no such thing as leaving a car space in front of you. You're lucky if you keep 3/4 car length.
I rode through Florida once. Last summer as the hurricane was passing through. Never seen so much rain in my life, let alone ride through it. I thought it was boring( I could ride extremely fast on ride home ) However seeing the swamps on side of road was cool and some different vegetation and trees. That said Im from Michigan where I ride when its in the twenties and that aint a lot of fun either. I would love to be able to ride year round.plus they dont have helmet laws for over 21

Going from Maryland to Florida, you'll think you hit the lottery. You'll have so much extra cash that the government won't take from you, you'll be able to fly and ride where ever you damn well please every weekend.
Riding here pretty much sucks, but the pro business and low tax atmosphere makes it worth it.
Plus it's fun watching the news and hearing that your neighbor ate someone's face.
sorry but i have to say Jacksonville has always sucked. when i worked at Toyota of Hollywood we had to take classes in Jacksonville thats where the Toyota school was, back in the 80's and man we all hated going there. it was so nasty and just not clean at all nowhere. last time i was there in 2014 it was the same way. the people there drive crazy, they dont pay any attention to what they are doing, but i guess thats pretty much everywhere now
Yeah riding here sucks. I'm in Orlando and some days it feels like I'm playing Russian roulette. On the coast it's ok. Stay away from I4. It seems like everyone is on the phone or high seriously. Huge amounts of accidents of cars slamming into bikes at red lights. And for god sakes stay away from Florida man. Why I'm still in Orlando I have no idea. I'm a straight white English speaking Republican Male. Everything Orlando hates
Florida is only a few hours from the Smokies. Been riding Fla my whole life and love going to the mountains.
My wife is from MD and although some hills it wasnt a riding meca imo. I will say the deer and rabbits are everywhere. We Autotrain up from Sanford Florida to Lorton Va with the bike and stay in MD with Family for a few days and the ride back to Fla via the Mountains. Going in July again.
It is what you make of it. Come on down and enjoy.

I used to commute into DC on the VRE, and used to see that autotrain Amtrak car thingy at the Lorton stop. Always wondered who used that...
I'll have to try that sometime with my wife, that sounds like a good time.
