They were probably the only bikes at EICMA in a plastic box. I'm guessing those are just plastic 3D printer pieces glued together.

What about all the manufacturers that did not have their bikes even at the show? No problem with them guys, eh?

It’s not the end of the world . But if there going to stop people from touching or even seating on the bikes why should spend money to get into the vendors show . I can look at bike **** all day long on my iPad for FREE .

I cannot begin to explain what a marketing turnoff this is. It tells me one thing: "Our machines are too precious for the likes of you unwashed customers to sit on ,touch, turn bars, flick switches, open compartments or in general sweat on." Maybe they are just 3D printed imposters?

You don't seem to understand that those are pre-production bikes and the final design that will be sold to the public may be substantially different.

So lets say they let somebody "seat" on that display model and the seat height is fine for him/her. Then when the bike is finally available to the public that person rushes down to their local dealer all excited to go for a test ride only to find that Harley has increased the seat height by one inch and the bike no longer fits them. Pissed off potential buyer, ya think?

If you look at the pictures you'll see that all important bit of information on the floor under each bike " styling prototype " which in knuckle dragger english means this is a non working mock up keep your dirty mitts off or it'll break. They glassed them in so people can't really can't see the unfinished detail and all the plastic on them.

Production bikes will not be that glittery nor have that well done precision look the model bikes do.

I get what your saying , but if you can’t wait to actually test ride a dealers bike then it is what it is . For instance back in 1983 I purchased a sportster 1000 XLX by pre ordering it for a advertise savings that I saw in a bike magazine. Which was $4000 OTD . I got a bike that I never saw in person or touched .

They're almost a YEAR away from being released! They're not going to be released until November at the earliest.

So, no, they're not real. They're not done. They're not ready for you to sit on, touch, turn the bars, flick the switches, or open the compartments.

Well maybe they will actually get working models they can take out from under the glass and touch, ride and buy.

The new models and months and years of talk and no action really turn me off. All the excitement is lost if and / or when they actually come to market.

I went to my local dealer Thursday. It was 34 degrees and snowing very lightly. I walked in and six people were huttled around the sales managers desk. They smailed and said hey to me. I told them I have been waiting for the perfect weather to demo a new model with the TC and RDRS. They looked at me like "WHAT DID HE SAY"! I was serious but I learned right away I was not allowed to test one in real world conditions unless "I signed my name"!

I looked over the showroom and they have a large inventory of bikes including a couple of CVO limits. The sad thing for me is noting on the floor excites me. Harley has totally lost me as a future buyer with what they are offering right now. Add the TC, RDRS , Boom GTS and maybe the 131 engine and WOW, I get excited until I see the colors they come in the lack of real chrome and the PRICE!

We are happy with our bike and my wife wants to keep it. She has opened the door for a second bike. I have looked at BMW, Yamaha, Honda and Ducati. Right now I am all over the place. Taking my time and planning a few demo rides. But the Yamaha FJR and the Honda African Twin DCT both get my attention.

Oh well I want to see HD do well but they are doing nothing for me at this point.
