I was in one of the local dealers last Saturday picking up a few things and it was busier than I thought it would be for January (but the weather was nice). Several people looking at bikes and filling out paperwork. I overheard one guy asking about new 2019's and the sales guy said they were all gone, only 2020 new bikes.

Also, at least one Livewire has been sold here in Tulsa, OK, if you believe the picture on their website.

I don’t know...when I told the sales manager that I wouldn’t pay the posted price, he asked me what I wanted to pay, I told him...and he said ok. That didn’t hurt too bad. That was when I bought a new Road King at the dealer I’m referencing in this thread. Then a year later, I bought a new leftover ‘17 Limited in September ‘18, I got it for $22K, with nothing extra but tax and license. That didn’t hurt either.

I mean, has anyone NOT gotten the memo that it isn’t the 90’s anymore? Last summer when I bought the new Heritage, I told the dealer what model and color I wanted. The salesman got on his computer and found a half dozen at nearby dealers. They did a dealer trade and I got my bike. No problem.

Wolverine HD in Mt. Clemens MI has sold 5 Livewires per a parts guy whom I asked. He said one customer was so excited when it came in that she came the day it arrived and rode it home in freezing temps.

and thats why i called bullshit on all those bike marked as sold. who would leave there paid for bike just sitting on the showroom floor in so cal. would anyone?? i have worked at about 5 different dealerships and seen this before its just a sales ploy. thats all marketing 101 as stated in this thread. so dont ask me anymore to try and pull me into your doubts about what you think. i will not argue the point. i have gone to my local and seen the very same thing and went back the next month and the sold bikes were still there and sold signs on different bikes. thanks VA Fish for taking the hit. while i was out.

That's the only location. They closed the Kearny Mesa store about a year ago.

Buyers fall for **** like that all the time. There is a whole science of studying consumers and getting them to buy things they don't want. The entire layout of a store is designed to entice you to buy something. Why are the shiny new bikes up front and the parts department in the back? To make you walk past the new bikes when you just need a part to fix your old one.
Most sales people are sleaze *****. One of the most unpleasant things in life is buying a vehicle. Most are like democrats and think everyone is stupid.
