"New Bike Day!!!
Went in to Thundermountain HD in Loveland CO to check out the FXDR in Performance Orange. (really looks RED)

Had it in my head the whole time," be ready to walk" NO WAY their going to meet my "number"

Told him he better "hit me with his best shot" first. Came back with OVER 23000.00 OTD
Can't blame them for trying right? Counter offer or "this is it, will write a check now for 19,300.0 OTD
He countered with 19 415.00 So I got up and shook his hand! Done deal!

Will be drastically changing the bodywork on this bike.

They will deliver for free or I can wait for a nice day to ride it home!!!!!
72 then 74 last Sat/Sun 4-6 inches of snow Monday with another 6-8 falling yesterday.

Probably just have them bring it since Loveland is an hour away with NC for delivery.

Also saddlebags. Might do a second fender for bags? Flatter on the sides?

Already got some Fatbob take-off bars.
Will build custom risers to reduce reach/ get a little higher and have more room for a small fairing.
Got the SE highflow round AC and extensions for new bars.
They only offered 10% off on parts so I didn't do my whole list.

REALLY HAPPY!!! Been almost 7 months since I decided this would be my next bike.
Keeping the Deuce for 2-up riding. Will even add a (YUCK) backrest and old Badlander seat for more padding.

Funny, that's almost (except for the numbers) the same deal scenario I went through to buy my bike.
Nice color, nice bike, congratulations.

Can I ask you why you didn't purchase from one of the Denver area dealers? Our daughter lives in Golden, so I've been out there several times visiting the Harley dealerships. Liked them all and I was wondering what a local riders' thoughts were. That said, I liked Thunder Mountain too.

Sun is my closest dealer. Got good numbers from them (the number I am happy with)
Brandon Harley in FL would have been quite a bit less.

I wanted that color and I wanted it now.

Avalanche in Golden has 4-5 in Vivid black. They "said" they would beat Sun by 400 bucks?
Sun only has a 19' that they did a bunch of stuff to. (Bassani pipes, then swapped for S+S do to warranty. Fender eliminator with teeny little led's.
The store in Parker proclaimed, "we are an MSRP dealer" + tax title, doc, freight etc. etc. etc "other surcharges" UM, what's a "surcharge"?

I really did not think a store that big would come down. 17,400.00 Total bike cost. MSRP on that bike is 19,399.00.
The rest is 8.75% state, and local taxes and title fee.
Have to still pay for plates.

I have the bike now, well after they deliver or I pick up.
Can get started on the parts I want to make.

Bought the SE AC and control extensions for new bars (Fat Bob w/custom risers.) Scrounging through my AL stock.
May order some or just use 3/4" and wrap with carbon?

"We are an MSRP dealer," they said...
