I had to change the inner shift lever on my 88 ultra classic. Had to take inner and outer primary off as well as clutch basket, Well since getting it all back together I have noticed that my clutch has no resistance on it and I run out of adjustment before it starts moving the lever. Please help me...

The ***** probably fall out of the ramps that actuate the push rod for the clutch. Time to consult the Factory Service Manual.
It was a pretty straightforward suggestion. Check the clutch actuator mechanism on the left side of the bike where the cable goes into. Should be a piece of cake compared to pulling the inner and outer primary covers.
