Ok then folks...looks like I'm pulling the trigger. Pending my test ride of course. I've scoured cycle trader, CL, eBay, etc. and it looks like I'm getting a solid deal on this one. I spent about 2 hours yesterday just looking it over and BS-ing with the seller who is a really good guy. He's already put the stock bars on it and I have V&H exhaust that was on my 05 FatBoy that he will install in place of what's on there now. The first stop will be to get new rubber on her. I'm excited about this...been looking around here and there for one of these for a while...just being patient for the right bike/deal to come along and it looks like it has. Can't thank y'all enough for the feedback! It helps to alleviate any potential buyer's remorse knowing that I'm getting this for a fair price. Again, MANY THANKS and I'll post photos in a week or so when I have the bike in my garage.
I was just thinking the same thing but I went out and checked on my springer and.... C'mon that was funny Maybe its a canned response to any new bike purchase suggestion
I love the look of a springer. Not sure if it matters, but I've been told that they handle like ****. I have not ridden one, and can't speak first hand.

I have ridden many...IMO they handle like any other softail, and actually ride better on a relatively smooth road...now when it comes to actually hitting a pothole, the hydraulic front end has the advantage...
I paid $5500 for mine but had to do about $1500 in tires and cam chain upgrade. Sounds like a smoking deal to me.
WOW. Beautiful bike!!! Thank you for sharing that...it just got me more excited! The seller has all of the stock take-offs and has offered to reinstall them, so I am going to take it back to the stock bike. Will need some TLC, (starting with tires), but I'm looking forward to that. Thanks again! I will share photos once I get the bike home.

I was told that, too. I think it is just from someone that has never ridden one and wanted to appear knowledgeable. I am glad I did not listen to him as he did not know what he was talking about..
I also rode a 2000 Heritage Springer and I will say it had a "rocking horse" feel to it that I found out meant it needed attention. Mine does not! Watching the springs working as you glide along is really cool. The worst part is maintenance about every 18-20K calls for about a $500 inspection and rebuild of bushings/washers. Most of that is labor costs..

It's got to be somebody to say Springers handle like crapp... ("never ridden one but that's what I was told").....mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
