but its true.. once you go springer, youll always own one
so...
i owned both, a 100th flstf and my now CVO pictured..
they ride DAY AND NIGHT from each other, the springer will make the fatboy feel like a cadillac, its front end provides ALOT more feedback as opposed to the cushy flstf, hits harder due to less travel and angle of attack if the bumps get larger than a couple inches, and potholes are damn near scary, no loss of traction or steering feel, but man,, kiss you n*ts and tail bone goodbye!!!
the springer rear is comparable to the fatboy
best way for me to describe it, its somewhere between the fatboy and a Jap Bike, closer obviously to the flstf..
since my CVO gives me more feedback on traction and attitude changes, i feel more confident that its going to listen to what i tell it, with no delay in reaction as opposed to the faboy that had a delay to react to sudden changes in brakes application or steering input, the fatboys front end was sensetive to ANY rear brake input on turns that effected its reaction and traction capabilities, the springer just slows down regardless of lean angle!!
the FLSTF front end would skim the pavement when cranked over on its side without any feedback, its unpredictablity was predictable, but the Avons gave it a controlled loss of traction (oxymorons??) but still unpredictable if you ride the bike hard, my springer doesnt do that, i feel the hint of loss soon as it starts and the bike reacts immediately to throttle +/- or brake feathering, the hint im talking about is a scratchy feeling resonating thru the bars and frame that the front tire is scratching for traction
BUT, the springers are f**king terrible 2 up with the OEM rear shock.. but that doesnt loook like itll be a problem with this bike!!! lol..

The Xbones is a straight road cruiser, at not too high speeds (120kph). In my opinion, the bones is more built for “style & looks” as opposed to performance and comfort, they are however Uber cool bikes.
I know of that bike and seriously contemplated buying it a couple of months ago, but settled for a more classic looking bones.
That bike has been sitting at the dealer for a while, and I’m sure they’ll be negotiable on the price.
See if they’ll let you take it for a test ride.
Good luck!
