Went on a bit longer ride. Still in the city, but I got about 40 more miles on the CIIIs. Love them so far. I am FAR more comfortable on these than the 888s that were on before. Even the tar snakes were less shaky. The 888s would squirt and dart on tar snakes even when going in a straight line.
I will continue to update as I get more miles on.

I put two 250 mile rides on the Commander III's one easy one riding hard. The Commander III's deal with putting my Street Glide plus 280lbs of me to hitting my boards on the ground with no fuss no muss. The rounded shape helps the big mike move from being deep in a right to deep in a left turn as easy as possible. The bike handles better than it ever did, it rides better and handles changes in ride height like a champ. Best tires I've ever had...

Just had these installed yesterday. I was a bit nervous after 20k+ on multiple sets of HD Dunlop’s. First impression is that these tires LOVE to turn. The turn in is amazing! If you like the twisties, these are a no brainer. Took the Road Glide to the mountains today and it was pure bliss. Michelin might have nailed it. I will add - if you like the straight line stability of the Dunlop’s, the Commander IIIs do not track as easily. But again, that freaking turn in!

Now time to put on 20k miles and report back...

Well i put a set of Dunlop Elite 4's on my Road Glide. It's a big heavy bike with a built 110 engine. The Dunlops made it feel like it was 200 pounds lighter. I'm so happy with the handling they will be on there from now on if they have decent mileage. Liked them so much i ordered a set to replace the Commander 2's on my Dyna. The Commander 2's on that particular 100+ HP Dyna with FXDX suspension + fork brace + Tru-Track + better brakes just were not up to the job on twisty roads. They were a bit "slippy". They did get the best mileage of any tires i have ever had except the Dunlop Elite 3's. What we need to see are some long term mileage reports from the Commander 3's. Now i run Michelin Pilot Road 4 tires in sportbike sizes on another bike and they have unbelievable wet weather performance. They just don't last very long.

These tire threads are sort of like oil threads but I like ‘em anyway. Seems like every time I put on a pair of new tires they feel amazing. Especially if I got near full money’s worth out of old ones. These baggers from ‘09 up get improved mileage over the older bikes and most of us riding these things are geezers anyway. So, new rear every year and new front every other and I don’t think it matters who makes it.

Hey mtgriz - just to help you spend your money...they make black waterproof duffles to go with your ride. I noticed you had a yellow dive bag like I used to have. Once you go ba=lack, you never go back.....
