There's no way I'd put my bike up on a $30 jack. Hate to find out the hard way that it's crap. $150 for the Sears yellow jack is cheap money for something that will last you a looooong time.
A friend is picking one up for me today. The guy at our local store said that he has sold many of these jacks at regular price and never had a complaint or return.
Is the yellow jack better than the red? My neighbor lent me the red Sears jack and I couldn't get it to balance my Dyna Low Rider. The bike kept wanting to fall over, jack blocked the drain plug, etc.
Pittbull Motorcycle Lifts are absolutel great. They are a little pricey but I think that they are worth every penney. The are extremely stable and well built. I don't exactly relish the idea of putting a $20,000.00+ bike on a cheap wobbly lift.
The yellow jack it a much better jack than the red and is also a little lower so it has better clearance. The first couple of times you use it you need to find the right balance point so the bike lifts evenly. After a couple of times, you get the hang of it. Don't know about a Low Rider, but I doubt the jack will block your drain plug. Buy it, try it and if it's not for you, return it.
