Maybe with the restructure they are not even going to bother releasing them anymore?
On the Q1 call, Jochen Zeitz and John Olin, clearly stated that they are continuing moving forward with Adv Touring and Streetfighter models, represented by the Pan Am and Bronx and also they would continue with eletrification with the LiveWire.....those would be maintained
Now, what they did NOT mention was the High Performance Cruiser that was supposed to be powered by the Revolution Max...probably they could ditch these bikes in favor of the traditional cruiser bikes.
I can't see Harley coming out with the 21's on the usual time table (mid/late-August). I'm thinking they'll still have 35-40% of the 20's in inventory.
So what's your best guess as to a timetable, and do you think there will be incredible deals on 20s to try and get them out of the way once production resumes?
Why would HD want to delay? If anything, I bet HD would want to advance their products earlier...
And, yes. HD does have "deals" every year to move older stock. Nothing new here...
Yes, on the conference call to announce the 1st quarter results, the leadership said that they will reset the timing for releases of new models more aligned to the riding season.
I did question Paul James on that and he said that the MY-2021 will be released in Jan/Feb/2021 aligned with and closer to Daytona Bike Week (official beginning of the riding season).
Norty Flatz,
The idea of moving the release date from Aug/Sept to Jan/Feb next year makes perfect sense in aligning with the possibility of buying and riding a motorcycle. Most northern-hemisfere markets (USA/CAN/EUROPE) are in the middle of Autumn going into Winter...so releasing new models at this time of the year sometimes is going to lead to less sales rather than during spring/summer
